FAQ (Mold Test Kit)

Q. What does the kit contain?
A. Our mold test kit consists of 2 petrii dishes, the agar with an antibiotic in it to inhibit growth of bacteria in the dish, paper work for chain of custody to have the sample returned to be analyzed and a VHS to demonstrate out to set up the test using the settle plate method.

Q. How does the test kit work?
A. The test returns results that you read yourself (as explained in the instructions) in three days. The test allows you to determine the concentration levels of mold in your home, and provides a general idea of the type(s) of mold (again, per the instructions).

Q. How large an area does the test kit cover?
A. The kit contains components to perform one baseline (outdoor) test, and one indoor test. If you want to test multiple areas in your home, purchase an additional petri dish for each extra room.

Q. What should I do if my test results suggest toxic mold?
A. If your results suggest the presence of toxic mold, we recommend that you return your petri dishes to us for an optional certified lab analysis to definitively determine the exact nature of your toxic mold. (Alternatively, you can conduct a mold remediation company in your local area.)

Q. What is the procedure for submitting samples to the lab?
A. When you order the lab analysis, you receive paperwork & a shipping envelope, which you will use to send the petri samples from your kit to the lab. (No need to collect a separate set of samples for the lab.)
